Morocco Travel Tours

Hi

We travel to morocco as a group , every year we go to a different place. Money permitting, we love to travel, but we tend to stay away from organized tours in the usual sense of the word since so often they tend to protect from really getting into the places, skipping from one tourist attraction to the next. This year we decided to go to Morocco, mainly because it seemed inexpensive, but after the vacation we were definitely in love with the place. We flew into Marrakech and were impressed immediately upon arrival by the airport building: its incredible roof outside is like lace and the sun shines through it, casting beautiful shadows on the pavement: there already was an incredible atmosphere greeting us. We took a taxi to Marrakech, with hundreds of scooters speeding around us! Our hotel was right off the Jeema el-Fna – an orderly chaos of smells, colors and sounds, by day and into the night! We hadn’t yet learned to not fall for taking pictures of guys with cobras , but that is how it started! We spent 3 days in Marrakech visiting the traditional tourist destinations before we were met by our travel guides MoroccoExcursions .com that we had selected for the real tour. From the outset, we found Hassan “MoroccoExcursions.com” an incredible person, full of joy, outgoing, but never intrusive. We left for Ouarzazate where we visited the Kasbah Ait Benhaddou (a lot of movies were made there) and then off to the Todra Gorges. Here we stayed in a hotel built in the caves! How wonderful! If you want I can give you its name. The next legs of our trip were the classic ones: Erfoud, Merzouga, Rissani, Zagora and Ouarzazate, The next evening we headed for a desert oasis on camels, to spend the night in a berber tent distinctly counting every star in the Milky Way (well, almost all).also how can we forget our stop on the way to Zagora, stopping to take a picture, when suddenly 4 children leaped out from nowhere offering a pony made of mud, they had made with their hands, in exchange for some candy! And when they accompanied us through the tiny dark inner passageways of a small town in the south, revealing the meaning of poverty, enabling us to quietly and respectfully peek into the everyday life of people in southern Morocco. And how can we forget our lunch, eating Berber pizza, in a small rug factory, sitting in the midst of all those dancing colors and so many types of fabric! I could go on for hours recounting the feelings, more than the places we visited, realy it was a magic tour , thanx to hassan & all “MoroccoExcursions.com team”

The Courhouse Hotel, London

When I was planning for a trip to London and comparing hotels online I came across The Courthouse Hotel in Soho.  As I am a big history buff it got my attention as an ideal place to stay while exploring the city.

Everything is well done at this hotel.  The owners wisely incoperated the buildings previous life as a courthouse into a five star establishment.

One can now drink in the plush bar built in the space of the former holding cells, sleep in the former judges chambers, and relax and workout in the stylish spa and workout center.

Mick Jagger and John Lennon once slept here by necesity, today it feels like staying at a private club for lawyers in the middle of London´s hot Soho!

Café Stof

An internet search for an affordable hotel took us to the hip and trendy ‘De Pijp” area. On our previous trips to Amsterdam we never left the (very touristy) city centre. We were pleasantly suppriced by de Pijp. It turns out to be the ‘quartier latin’ area of Amsterdam. All young and hip locals go here for a bite to eat or a few beers. Our hotel recommended café Stof for dinner. A quaint little pub with restaurant quality food. The place was buzzing! Very friendly staff and very tasty food. No tourist trapps in ‘de Pijp’!

Maison Zen

If you are looking for a reasonable, clean and unique place to stay in Paris this is it.  It is a Zen center that also rents out small apartments to tourists.  English is the language spoken there.  The folks who live there are friendly and do their best to make your stay enjoyable.  It is three blocks from the Bastille metro stop and is in a cool neighborhood.

82 Queen

Authentic Lowcountry Cuisine. Executive Chef Brad Jones credits the authenticity of 82 Queen’s Lowcountry menu to home-grown ingredients. “We use a lot of local herbs and vegetables, when they’re in season … like okra, tomatoes, sweet corn, peppers, and mushrooms to showcase our prime cuts of beef and fresh seafood. Our shrimp, crab, grouper, flounder, snapper and black fish are so fresh… they were probably swimming in local waters a day or two before being served at our tables.”

Rajasthan Tour

This is a trip report about India. My wife and I just returned from a month trip to Rajasthan and loved every minute of it. It was our dream to be there at least once but finally we found this country so different and interesting to come back again some time.

We start our trip from Delhi then by train to Amritsar ( Golden temple) our driver was waiting for us there at the train station, next destination was Bikaner by car – Jaisalmer ( Thar desert) – jodhpur – Luni – Ranakpur beautiful Jain temples – Udaipur – Khempur ( one of the most authentic non touristy village where we enjoy lot and like the most, we never heard about this place but it was recommended to stay at least one night there) – Pushkar -Ranthambhore national park ( we were lucky to see tigers first time in our life) – Jaipur – Agra ( the Taj Mahal, its so beautiful) – Gwalior fort – Orchha – Khajuraho ( kamasutra temples ) – next day we took flight to Varanasi ( so different then any other town of India, quite different feeling, we had great experience to see all the ghats on Ganges by boat) – Train to Delhi in first class air-con cabin.

We were never sick, ate everything with no problems and had the best time. Sure there is poverty and dirt and many other things may be you don’t like but it is one fascinating country so if you have thought about it …just go!

Wish you all the best.

Bon Voyage.

Kasbah Omar

"For the adventurous spirit who loves pampering, Kasbah Omar is the place!"

From the breathaking views of the snow-capped High Atlas mountains that graced my morning coffee-nook on the top floor terrace, to the Arabian Nights ambiance of the silk-clad lounge, Kasbah Omar provided an entirely magical stay.

The staff were gracious, friendly and competent, the food was superb, the rooms were comfortable and beautifully appointed, and the surroundings are entirely authentic.

I felt that by staying at the Riad I had truly immersed myself in the best of Moroccan culture: It was a far richer experience than that found in my hotel stays on this visit, where I was isolated from the local people and flavor. Kasbah Omar is situated in the heart of a Berber village: To step out of the ornate front door was to find myself immediately surrounded by the vitality of Moroccan life.

In fact, I was always eager to return to Kasbah Omar at the end of the day: It felt like coming home (if I lived somewhere with really fabulous silk curtains). It’s probably not for people who want to eat McDonald’s in foreign countries, but I found it to be entirely enchanting.

JetLounge

I spend a wonderful weekend in Amsterdam, and stumbeled into a new restaurant which also seemed to be a cocktailbar and club with DJ’s spinning al night.

The menu was a surprising fusion of Thai and Mexican kitchen. We ate scalops with a Thai broth and mexican homemade kwaquemole for starters. The owner is an american and the service is verry friendly and personal. They made us feel at home.

The ambiance was elegant, but realy cool and relaxed to. We were totaly surprised by the wonderful cocktails and the DJ’s made trhat we tayed until three at night stretced out in the wonderful lounge aria.

I can recommend Jetlounge to everyone who wants to experience agood kitchen with wonderful cocktails. You can find Jetlounge  on the Westermarkt 25 acros the Wersterkerk near the Jordaan en the Anne Frank house
