82 Queen

Authentic Lowcountry Cuisine. Executive Chef Brad Jones credits the authenticity of 82 Queen’s Lowcountry menu to home-grown ingredients. “We use a lot of local herbs and vegetables, when they’re in season … like okra, tomatoes, sweet corn, peppers, and mushrooms to showcase our prime cuts of beef and fresh seafood. Our shrimp, crab, grouper, flounder, snapper and black fish are so fresh… they were probably swimming in local waters a day or two before being served at our tables.”

Rajasthan Tour

This is a trip report about India. My wife and I just returned from a month trip to Rajasthan and loved every minute of it. It was our dream to be there at least once but finally we found this country so different and interesting to come back again some time.

We start our trip from Delhi then by train to Amritsar ( Golden temple) our driver was waiting for us there at the train station, next destination was Bikaner by car – Jaisalmer ( Thar desert) – jodhpur – Luni – Ranakpur beautiful Jain temples – Udaipur – Khempur ( one of the most authentic non touristy village where we enjoy lot and like the most, we never heard about this place but it was recommended to stay at least one night there) – Pushkar -Ranthambhore national park ( we were lucky to see tigers first time in our life) – Jaipur – Agra ( the Taj Mahal, its so beautiful) – Gwalior fort – Orchha – Khajuraho ( kamasutra temples ) – next day we took flight to Varanasi ( so different then any other town of India, quite different feeling, we had great experience to see all the ghats on Ganges by boat) – Train to Delhi in first class air-con cabin.

We were never sick, ate everything with no problems and had the best time. Sure there is poverty and dirt and many other things may be you don’t like but it is one fascinating country so if you have thought about it …just go!

Wish you all the best.

Bon Voyage.

Kasbah Omar

"For the adventurous spirit who loves pampering, Kasbah Omar is the place!"

From the breathaking views of the snow-capped High Atlas mountains that graced my morning coffee-nook on the top floor terrace, to the Arabian Nights ambiance of the silk-clad lounge, Kasbah Omar provided an entirely magical stay.

The staff were gracious, friendly and competent, the food was superb, the rooms were comfortable and beautifully appointed, and the surroundings are entirely authentic.

I felt that by staying at the Riad I had truly immersed myself in the best of Moroccan culture: It was a far richer experience than that found in my hotel stays on this visit, where I was isolated from the local people and flavor. Kasbah Omar is situated in the heart of a Berber village: To step out of the ornate front door was to find myself immediately surrounded by the vitality of Moroccan life.

In fact, I was always eager to return to Kasbah Omar at the end of the day: It felt like coming home (if I lived somewhere with really fabulous silk curtains). It’s probably not for people who want to eat McDonald’s in foreign countries, but I found it to be entirely enchanting.

JetLounge

I spend a wonderful weekend in Amsterdam, and stumbeled into a new restaurant which also seemed to be a cocktailbar and club with DJ’s spinning al night.

The menu was a surprising fusion of Thai and Mexican kitchen. We ate scalops with a Thai broth and mexican homemade kwaquemole for starters. The owner is an american and the service is verry friendly and personal. They made us feel at home.

The ambiance was elegant, but realy cool and relaxed to. We were totaly surprised by the wonderful cocktails and the DJ’s made trhat we tayed until three at night stretced out in the wonderful lounge aria.

I can recommend Jetlounge to everyone who wants to experience agood kitchen with wonderful cocktails. You can find Jetlounge  on the Westermarkt 25 acros the Wersterkerk near the Jordaan en the Anne Frank house
